The memorable street food paradise - Taipei ~ Day 2

Day 2 was a hectic day. We rent a taxi for a day's travel (4 person travel, 3500 NT for 8 hours, extra hours NT 300).

Our first destination was to the 13 Layer remains, aka remains of copper refinery (十三層遺址).

Nearby was the Golden waterfall, (黃金瀑布 ). As suggested by the name, the golden appearance makes it a tourist attraction although there was no gold flowing.
After taking photos, we ate snacks at stalls nearby.

Next we went and took photos of the ying yang ocean (陰陽海).

After that, we moved  on to Yeh Liu Geopark  (野柳地質公園) , unique sedimentary rocks formed near the ocean. The famous queen's head rock is the greatest attraction among all rocks there.

We stopped by Jishan old street (金山老街) for lunch.

The food there was very reasonable. The restaurant near at the temple in the best.  A must try dish is the duck.
Following that, we visited Teressa Teng's (鄧麗君) resting place.

Before we headed towards our next destination, we stopped by this dessert shop known as yannick (亞尼克果子店 )for a break. We tried the yam dessert, cakes and the fruit teas.

Next we traveled to jiu fen old street (九份老街). The journey took about an hour. The food there was good. We tried the famous taro balls- Lai Ah Po Yu Yuan (賴阿婆芋圓), huang ma ma's jelly , peanut brittle ice cream wrap, Ah Lan Taro Kueh (阿兰芋头粿) and had oolong tea at one of the tea restaurants to relax ourselves.

Since it was  getting dark, the next destination was to go shifen (十分)for the sky lanterns. We bought the lantern and wrote on the lantern with chinese brush before releasing the lantern to the sky.

Our final stop of the day was the Keelung Night (基隆廟口夜市) market for more food.

The food we tried were the  nutritious fried sandwich (營養三明治 -top left), Ding Bian Cuo (鐤邊趖-top middle),  Rice: Lu Rou Fan (滷肉飯 -top right ),  Green Bean Noodle: Ba Bao Dong Fen (八寶冬粉 -bottom left),  Butter Crab (奶油螃蟹-bottom middle)and the braised eel soup (紅燒鰻魚羹-bottom right).

These marks the end of fruitful day 2.
