hong kong day 6 and 7

Day 6 begin with a heart warming congee breakfast from "mui kee congee" shop at Mongkok.

Next, we headed to causeway Bay for shopping. As this is not their sale season, there were not many sales in the shops. In the brighter side, we indirectly narrow down our choice. Fortunately, they have a bazaar sale which sells branded goods at reasonable price.  I got a Ck bag for 300 HKD
. We had our lunch at Ho Hung Kee, a Michelin one star restaurant famous for wanton noodles. I like the " cheong fun " a lot.

We spend the rest of the day shopping. There was a discounted branded goods Bazaar going on and there are great deals if you search thoroughly.
We ate some snacks near the ladies market for dinner.
fake 'shark fin soup"

ice blended coconut

grilled squid

End of day 6 and we went back the next day. Nothing much for day7 so that's all for the Hong Kong trip. I enjoyed the trip, it is a great place to shop for branded goods when they have discounts.

Hong Kong day 5

Day 5 was Disneyland day. Yay, time to relive my childhood.  Since this is my first trip to Disneyland, I am very excited.

We started our Disneyland trip with jungle river cruise at adventure land.  The ride was fun, like the hot air effect.

Next, we watched "festival of lion king " performance.

I had always love lion king since young. We move on to Tarzan's treehouse before moving on to the next area "grizzly gulch " for the roller-coaster.

The ride was full of surprises even for an adult like me.  Haha.  After that, the next area was "mystic point " for the mystic manor ride. Interesting and pleasant ride.

Our next stop was toy story land. We tried the toy soldier parachute drop and the RC racer. Both were fun.

I am glad we stayed for the night parade (7.30pm)and the fireworks at 9pm. Both were amazing to watch.

Cute Mickey waffle.

Hong Kong day 4

We kick start our nothing with  dim sum from "Tim Ho Wan ", a one star Michelin star award winning restaurant. As expected, the queue was overwhelming.
The food was okay, similar to other branch in other parts of the world.  The fried carrot cake and pork bun is still the best dish to order there.

The Glutinous rice with Lotus Leaf

The vermicelli roll

The prawn dumplings

The fried carrot cake

The pork dumpling

baked Char Siew Bun

osmanthus petal 'cake
You can ask for a container to take away in case you can't finish. We ate about 145 HKD for these meals which I find it very reasonable.

Our next stop was to take the tram to Victoria peak.  The queue was horrible around 11am on a Sunday .

Fortunately,  the view above was clear.  We chilled and look around the place before heading down  hours later.
Around 5pm, the queue was faster and we waited around 30 min plus to get down.
Lady stop of the day was the "ladies market " at Tung Choi street.
\

The place was good for bargaining for souvenirs. We only managed to bargain 6 Keychains for 65 HKD but were not brave enough to ask for a lower price. Since it is sold at the peak for 80hkd, I consider that okay.  We ate smelly tofu ($12 HKD per piece) ,  curry fish ball, egglets and drank "gong cha " while watching un the street performers singing.

Curry fish ball and egglet makes an awesome snack.
Beware:Smelly tofu might not be suitable for everyone! Try at your own risk.
 End of the day.

hong kong day 3

Today is the day we went to Macau.  We started off the day by taking number 3 bus from Dorsett Mongkok hotel to China Hong Kong ferry terminal.  Upon arrival, we were stunned by the number of agents selling the ferry tickets only to realize that most of morning tickets in the counter were sold out. Despite such confusion, we managed to find an agent that sells at 320 HKD round trip to 外港 port at Macau. We went there by Cotai ferry and back via Turbo jet.
The admission was pretty fast. We took a bus to visit St Paul church at 新马路.

We visited a nearby church on the way to St Paul Church and the interior is beautiful.

The famous saint Paul church was crowded with tourist.

We also visited the fort with canons situated near the Saint Paul Church.

We ate the pork burger ( HKD24) and the famous Portuguese tart(HKD 8).

Due to the lack of time, we had to head back to Kowloon, hong kong and forgo the casino. Hence,  no chance to try our luck for early retirement.

We took bus the ferry terminal. On the way back to the terminal, we realize that most of the of the hotels are casino themselves.   Back to Hong Kong.

After taking a short rest, we headed to MTR and took a train to Kowloon's Ritz carton hotel to visit Ozone bar, the world highest bar.  The food was good and the night view was superb if you choose to dine outside. Die to lack of available seats, we had our meal inside. We ordered "Hong Kong Roof Top" and "Sweet Life".  I find Hong Kong Roof Top better.

After chilling, we head back to hotel and that's the end of the day.
